This has been another busy, busy week! However, I have finished two more Christmas wall hangings! One more to go for a friend, and then the quilting ceases until January. Here's the latest:
Santa was ordered from Keepsake; I just couldn't resist him! Isn't he pretty? I free-motion outlined almost everything with gold metalic thread on my Viking; I stitched the straight border lines and letters on my Singer which was my sister's. He's not perfect, but I love him! I'll have to get another rod to properly hang him in the den; I can hardly wait, but I have to admit I'm dreading punching a higher hole in the wall, or perhaps two! (I worked too hard on faux painting that wall!)
"Christmas Cardinals in My Window" will hang in the sunroom with the rest of the birds! It too will get a new 'straight' rod, and Christmas things will replace the little sewing machines, of course. I had bought the Moda birds for another purpose, but decided they would look pretty in the attic window pattern. I may not take this one down until after Christmas; I'm already enjoying it.
My brain and body both are already churning on Christmas! I've been stocking up on candy ingredients, and I've also been washing crystal that's in the glass cabinets; never got that done last Christmas! I want to get a lot of cleaning and silver polishing done next week if possible, and then I'll mess it all up again when I start dragging Christmas out of the closets and garage! I know I'll be having at least three large parties for several friends, and really, I can hardly wait! I'm still a long way from being ready though!
Next Saturday Ruth and Jennifer will come for a visit. We had to postpone our earlier date, and I'm really looking forward to our get together so I can see first-hand what they've been working on! I'm also looking forward to watching a free-motion lesson from Ruth!
To those of you in the storm-struck areas, you are in my thoughts and prayers! I hope all of you are safe and didn't have any injuries or as much damage as I've been seeing on TV; such devastation is heart-breaking!
Hope everyone has a great week-end.

Yes! Santa is really cute! And I love the cardinals in the window. The window really looks 3 dimensional. Don't work too hard this week. Can't wait until next Saturday! I'm hoping to get something finished to show you.
ReplyDeleteCan you look for something that doesn't punch a hole into your pretty wall? Those 3M hangars maybe? The Santa turned out very well and I love the cardinals in the window. I hope all the fussy cleaning is worth it - I'd probably just tell everyone to ignore the dust because I'm too busy quilting!
ReplyDeleteThat's a proper Santa :) The attic window setting is a great idea for that cardinal print too. Enjoy your pre-Christmas preparations.
ReplyDeleteTht Santa is just adorable. I am with Katie...those 3M hangers are great and come off without damage to your walls.
ReplyDeleteThe attic window for your cardinals, such a great idea. You can enjoy that one all winter long.
Don't work too hard cleaning. ;)
Ah, Love, some children just never grow up, LOL! Do enjoy your Christmas bustling but be careful and don't overdo it. Your house always looks beautiful!
