I've probably started all wrong, but all the sashings are quilted!
Today I quilted one of the center blocks, and it was push, pull, and shove all the way, but again, it's good enough for who it's for --- ME! *grin* It's going to be a slow go, but now there's only 11 blocks more to go! *wink* I promise I won't bore you with each block, but I just had to show you this first one. Don't go looking for perfection! The front has a slight problem, (I think I stretched one of the points --- it was flat when I started), but I love how the back looks!
All the while, I was wishing for a machine with a wider throat!
I'm afraid life will be getting in the way for two or three days, so I may not get much done until next week.
I was wondering why I waited so long to get started. Now I'm wondering whether I'll live long enough to finish it!
Enjoy working on your projects! I think I'll enjoy this one, but will be glad when it's finished --- next year???!

Hee hee! You are such a card Love. I really like the pattern you have devised for the quilting but empathise with your frustration of small throat space on the machine. I'm due for a new machine sometime in the next 18 months and a large throat space is absolutely in the top 3 must haves.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks wonderful! Take it one day at a time, one block at a time. I will get done!

Your quilting looks perefct!!! And only 11 more blocks to go. I really like how the quilting makes the shape of the center pop. And it gives the block a feeling of movement. (Does that make sense?) Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect to me! Quilting a large quilt can get kind of boring and tedious, but just keep going with it and you'll make it. I pretty much keep working on only quilting as far as sewing is concerned until a quilt is finished, but there's nothing wrong with breaking the monotony with other sewing too, especially when you have 2 sewing machines handy. I don't keep my featherweight set up at home as I really don't have a good spot for it, but I have been known to set it up for a little while. Yesterday, DGD & I worked on her quilt quite a while and I also did some of my own piecing too. I'll try to get some pictures today. :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks good!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! We're our own worst critics, right? I love the pattern you've chosen - it's perfect for the blocks. And you'll get it done sooner than you think. A little here and a little there and poof...done!
ReplyDeleteWell done! It looks great to me. One block at a time will get it done. Once the center ones are done, the ones closer to the edge are easier (says the woman who still has not basted Kyoto Gardens because she knows she'll then have to quilt it!)
ReplyDeleteLove, you are doing a great job, it looks beautiful to me. Keep doing a little at a time and it will be finished before you know it. Most importantly, enjoy what you are doing and take a break when it gets tedious.
