There's a new project underway at my home. I have 25 little log cabin blocks in progress, for a little quilt for a friend. These blocks will grow some more, so I'm not sure how many more blocks I will need to make, and I haven't decided for sure how I will lay them out, but at least I have a February start! I'm using left-over fabrics from my previous cowboy quilts. Here's how it is looking so far.
I've been in awe this past week or two at the number of projects many of you have completed or are currently working on at the same time. I haven't figured out yet how you do that! It's obvious you are more organized than I am. All of you have been turning out some beautiful things. Keep up the good work; it inspires me to do better.
Seems like for two months I've been a cripple since the foot incident, or I've been sputtering with the crud! I'm hoping for some sunny and warmer weather soon. Yet I feel almost guilty as I watch the weather news from areas where many of you live, and as I look at the incredible snow pictures you have posted. I don't know how you do what you do; I'd simply have to move! One thing for sure --- you've got spunk!
Hope all of you stay warm, well, and safe! Happy Quilting!
---"Love"
Edit: Right now the blocks are 4 1/2", with two more strips to go on each side.
My foot is healed for the most part, but will probably be discolored somewhat for a while longer.

The little log cabins are wonderful. How "little" are they? How is your foot doing?
ReplyDeleteOh, the log cabins are so colorful and I love the contrast. As for the snow, you get used to it and just do what you gotta do, LOL! So glad your foot is getting better.

What pretty little blocks -- I love the blue/green swirl type fabric.
ReplyDeleteWe all deserve some nice weather. It has been miserable for way too long now.

Your log cabins are looking great! I love your colors. I am also in awe of everyone elses projects, I feel like I am spinning my wheels. I'm getting closer to starting something new. It is so good to hear your foot is better, that is great news.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks look great - of course, I "love" log cabin blocks. The only reason I get a lot of sewing done is that I neglect my other chores - like housework. At least I am almost caught up on the dusting. Hee Hee!
ReplyDeleteYour little log cabin blocks are so pretty.Your colors are great. Seems like you have a big start for Feb.
ReplyDeleteI used to get one project and complete it before going on to the next. Along the way I just started having stitching, knitting, quilting projects all going so I could work on what I felt like doing at the moment. Think I let that get a wee bit out of hand. Oh well, I am having fun.
Glad your foot is better. That was a long time.
Happy stitching
I like the blocks;) And they look so "handsome"...manish is what I think I mean. It's hard to put stuff together that looks masculine;) Keep up the quilting!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
I love your log cabin blocks, and I like stripes showing up in the layout you have there. I'm not sure how people work on so many projects at once. I'm not a multi-tasker. I let my projects get out of hand and now they are driving me nuts instead of relaxing me. I've spent the last several months trying to whittle them down to just 2 again - one at the handquilting stage and another at piecing or machine quilting stage. I'm not quite there yet, but soon! Enjoy your return to the sewing machine. I hope we all get nicer weather soon. At least the sun is shining here today, which makes the snow sparkle and for me at least takes the sting out of the cold!
ReplyDeleteOh I love log cabin quilts! They're so timeless.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the foot is mending too. ♥
Oh I love the log cabin blocks!! I can't handle more than one project at a time, unless its a must make fast baby quilt! The weather has been depressing here lately. I'm very much looking forward to spring weather! I hope your foot is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are beautiful! How about that ice and snow last week? You ready for more tonight? I'm more prepared this time. Take care! Jenn
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a great quilt. Can't wait to see it finished. Love the colors. Sounds like your doing much better. I also see that Texas is getting hit with snow and cold. Stay warm as we are in subzero wind chills here in the Chicago area. Connie204
