I've been working on a log jam since January 23! That's when I cut the first log for a little log cabin quilt for a friend! Finally today, I got past the log jam when I finally got the top together! You may notice I changed the setting a bit. The 60 blocks are 6.5", and each block has 17 logs cut at 1.25" wide, making a total of 1,020 logs, plus the 56 pieces in the bordered setting triangles. All the fabric is from my stash, and is mostly leftover cowboy fabric from the three cowboy quilts I made for my son and grandsons. It is 55" square at this point. I think I will bind it with the same green as the setting triangles, so the light sashing will really stand out. Obviously, it hasn't been trimmed yet. I was tired of messing with it about noon today, and decided it was more important to get outside and prune the crepe myrtles!
I'm so excited about getting to go to the Dallas Quilt Show Friday with friends. It would be great to get to meet Theri there and see her show entry. I'm wondering which beautiful quilt she will be showing. I'll take lots of pictures to share, and to get ideas! I can hardly wait!
I'll be hosting another cousins' reunion in mid-April, so I've got to get with the program of housecleaning and yard work! Quilting may have to go by the wayside a few days! *frown* Seems like I never have enough quilting time to suit me! Life just keeps getting in the way!
Have fun quilting --- a lot!

That's the best looking Log Jam I've seen! What a beautiful shade of green in the border. I can't wait to see your pix from the show. Have a wonderful time! Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is awesome! Love the green setting triangles. It is perfect! I need to get some yard work done too - not my favorite chore. Like you, I would rather be quilting.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is "WOW"! That quilt is gorgeous and the dark green really sets off the log cabins! Beautiful job! But really, Love, you gotta get your priorities straight. Quilting first and then everything else, LOL!

ReplyDeleteYour quilt is gorgeous! Are you sure you want to give it away? I love it. I want to make a Log Cabin quilt "someday" so I will remember this one as an example. Have fun at the quilt show, I hope you and Theri get to spend some time together. I will be waiting to see some pictures! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! The green setting triangles really set it off beautifully. Enjoy the quilt show. I'm looking forward to lots of pictures!

ReplyDeleteI love everything about this quilt! The colors, the setting, the light border, the setting triangles. I don't think that I could part with such a beauty.
ReplyDeleteHope the show was great.
There is something so comforting about a log cabin quilt. And I really like your colour choices! Your green setting triangles really set the quilt! Loving it!
