I think those 2" half-square scrap blocks are growing in number, but quite a few are in this little 16"x22" donation doll quilt. I got the idea from a really old magazine with lots of mini-quilts.
I was also able to get four more blocks made for my Barbara Brackman Civil War Quilt.

I went with the church "Golden Agers" to Tyler, Texas on Thursday to see the Azalea Trails there. We were about a week too late; the rain and storms had finished them off on Tuesday, but the Tyler Rose Garden was in full bloom! Simply beautiful! If you live within a day's drive, it is well worth seeing!
Just about the only Azalea left intact!
Just a portion of the expanse of the Rose Garden!
Full bloom! Every color imagineable!
AND THEN THERE'S THESE NEXT TWO JUST OUTSIDE MY SUNROOM WINDOWS:
A little rain damaged, but full of new buds to come again!
I hope everyone had a glorious Easter. I did!

What a darling doll quilt! And your blocks are superb! I've never been to the Tyler Azalea Trail or Rose Garden, but one time my sister & I went to the Dogwood Festival in Palestine. That was real nice too. Texas has so many wonderful flowers in the spring!
ReplyDeleteYour roses look absolutely stunning, Love! Everything this spring seems to be a week or two early. Sorry you missed the azaleas. Your blocks are lovely, as usual, LOL.

The doll quilt is so lovely. All those tiny little pieces, and so perfectly done. Your CW blocks are great.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are just beautiful. I wish I had a green thumb, but I don't.
Happy Stitching
The CW blocks look great! And the little doll quilt is adorable. The roses are beautiful. I'm so happy that things are greeing up around here, too, but nothing quite like that yet!
ReplyDeleteLove that mini quilt;) And all the flowers...oh my!! Wonderful;) We are getting into spring here ourselves;) Good stuff;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
I like the blocks in your doll quilt, the way they are negative/positive images across the diagonal.
ReplyDeleteThe little dolls quilt is so sweet, and your roses are looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe doll's quilt is a sweetie and your CW blocks are coming along nicely. I quite like the design of that spool one. If you ever get to Sydney (at the right time of year) I can recommend the azaleas that grow along Epping Road at Lane Cove. You'll have to sit in bumper to bumper traffic for hours but you get a good view of them! ann :-)
