I finally got all the nine donation holiday table toppers, made by our church quilters' group, to the proper people for the auction next Sunday, along with two more by me and two more by our leader. I'm curious how it will go, with nine table toppers in one big basket. Hope there's at least two buyers there who want all nine of them together. Two of them are "first quilts", and I hate that they chose to donate them rather than keep them. One said she might just have to buy the whole group, which would be nice. I laughed and said she might be bidding against the maker of the other "first quilt", which might raise the bidding. We'll see.
In the meantime, I've been trying to get my bird panel quilted, but it's been a slow go --- lots of interruptions! Here's just a glimpse of a small portion of it. I'm trying to FMQ around the details, and finding it difficult, but hey, it's for me! Some day (year?) maybe I'll get the hang of it! I must say my new machine is a big help!
Easter was beautiful here, and my pastor's message was absolutely the best I've ever heard; wish all you readers could have heard it! I just have to tell you that not only is he a wonderful preacher; he sings beautifully too, and did so during his sermon --- quite a surprise to some, and very moving!
There's a possibility it will be a while before I post again. Next week I'll be receive a new laptop and will have to learn to operate that and Windows 7, and Google Chrome, all at the same time. (I've had XP, and didn't want 8 or 8.1!) IE just has not been doing well for me lately, and ATT says it is not my computer, but rather their DSL service --- well, thanks a lot! . Wi-fi will also be new to me, and ATT is changing my service to fiber optic even though I didn't want to agree. They said I have no choice --- they are changing our entire town (and I think maybe the whole nation eventually)! They tried to assure me it will be much better; it surely better be! Anyway, I'm going to be behind the learning curve for several weeks, no doubt! I'm sure all of you are laughing at me, and have known all about the newer technology a long time, but it's all new to me! So bear with this old lady!
Hope all is going well with all of you!

Your quilting looks great and the bird panel is going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to see the whole quilt finished! AT&T has changed our service some, but I'm not really sure how. Last summer they came out and hooked up some new equipment, but this last month they have been digging all over our neighborhood and when I asked what they were doing, they said it was to upgrade AT&T users to U-verse. I thought they did that last summer??? I'm confused. We also have been getting refund checks in the mail from them?!?!?
ReplyDeleteI enlarged the picture to see your quilting and it looks wonderful! ! ! This will be a beautiful quilt. When we got a new computer, it came with Windows 8 and it has been interesting to learn. New technology is always frustrating at first, I wish some things would just stay the same. I've been having a problem between my blog and Yahoo. The last post I did, it wouldn't let me reply to comments and some of the comments didn't even show up in my email even though they were showing on my blog. Ugh, technology!
ReplyDeleteI like the glimpse you're showing us. As for the technology...I'm behind most. Whatever I have works and I know how to use it, and changing to the next thing happens when I have no choice, so I really think the speed at which we adopt new tech is related more to personality than generation! I'm the only mom on the block (or maybe even in town) who doesn't own a smartphone and doesn't know how to text...
ReplyDeleteI just love the bird panel. So far your quilting looks great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the new technology. I dread having to learn new systems. Hope to 'see' you soon.
