It's late tonight, so I'll make this short and sweet!
Week 7: I'm not at all proud of this one! Bad fabric choices; poor machine applique! I should have chosen some solids rather than all florals from the same line, and I should have done the applique by hand! Maybe I'll re-do it someday; maybe not.
Week 8: Fairly easy, and I'm fairly pleased.
CORRECTION: THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LABELED AS WEEK 9.
Week 9: Lots of little seams, but I'm fairly pleased with this one too.
CORECTION: THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN LABELED AS WEEK 8.
Life continues to be wild and busy around here! Health-wise, I'm holding on --- (literally, to my cane and everything I get near!); I just can't seem to stay up with everything and everywhere I'm expected to be! I'm starting to practice saying "NO!" to more people and things! Luckily, I've been home alone all day today. 'Twas nice, and the sun was shining beautifully, and not too windy!

I'm impressed that you are caught up. I never did get started. : )
ReplyDeleteThe center you put on the "week 8" block is a really nice effect.
Delighted to read that you are putting yourself first for a change Love. No one could accuse you of not doing lots for others over the years. I'd love a day all to myself, home alone. Those Blockhead blocks have so many little pieces. Looking good in those patriotic colours.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great - every single one of them! And good for you saying no. I know how hard it can be, but if it keeps you healthy and safe, everyone else will manage. I'm so glad to see you sewing more lately. That stretch where you did none had me worried!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Love, for catching up with your blocks. I think they look great. I have stopped trying to trim mine, and I won't fuss too much unless there is an obvious flaw. We still have a long way to go.
ReplyDeleteI think that saying No can be a good thing. It gives you the opportunity to do some of the things you really want to do, without the guilt.
Enjoy your nice weather!
Your blocks look great from where I sit. I'm sure you're being too critical of that first one. Good for you, saying no once in a while. Taking time for yourself is important too.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are all wonderful! I love all the red, white and blue, it will be a beautiful patriotic quilt. It is hard to learn to say NO but in the long run, it is good for your. Stay healthy, relax more and have fun sewing!
