She had one more beautiful quilt there, but I've misplaced the picture.
Another friend had some unbelievable quilts in the show too. I think maybe she had lost her mind BEFORE she started this quilt of 3/4" pieces! The area we normally would think of as background was also 3/4" pieces!
Then I met a lady who was looking at this quilt that was labeled as last year's Best of Show; of course, again I couldn't get a full picture because it was up on the stage. It, too, was beautiful, hand appliqued and machine quilted.
My attention was drawn to two more quilts that same lady had made; they too are amazing!
The first one is made from silk ties, and Elvis is in the top clam shell.
That same lady also made this next one; it is truly awesome! Her description says it has 10,528 pieces in the center, plus the applique borders.
If these quilts were all I had seen, I would have had a quilt feast! But there are more I really want to share; I don't know any of the makers; I just like them!
I fear if I include them in this post, it will be overloaded. So I'm going to make a second post behind this one with more pictures. Again, no explanations, etc.; just pictures! So be sure to see that post too, titled More Quilt Show Pictures.
Enjoy!
