This afternoon I've been hand-stitching the binding on my little project, and doing a lot of thinking about the situation this world is in with the coronavirus19 and how it has overtaken the entire world.
At the beginning of 2020, I decided I would try to read my Bible through this year; I failed many times past to do that, but so far this year I've stayed pretty much on schedule for the plan I'm using. This morning I was reading Deuteronomy, Chapter 30, how the Lord told His people that IF they would keep His Commandments, he would take good care of them. Of course, He had told them that many times before, but no doubt it was time to remind them again.
While stitching this afternoon, another Scripture came to my mind, and I just feel compelled to share it here with you. I'm just a regular Christian who falls by the wayside a lot, but my Lord does a good job of keeping me in line most of the time, if and when I just listen to Him
So here's what I want to share with you today and then my sermon will be over and you can get back to your quilting. I do believe this could possibly be the solution to the problems we are facing today.
"And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
"IF I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or IF I command the locusts to devour the land or IF I send pestilence among my people:
"IF my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
II Chronicles 7:12-14
Notice those last three lines! To all of you who, like me, are one of God's people, let's give His command a try. Nothing else seems to be working.

Bless you. I agree! I've prayed for our nation and people and still pray this is the moment they decide to take the Lord and salvation seriously. Thank you for the post. Patty McDonald
ReplyDeleteAmen dear sister.
ReplyDeleteOur church is holding a worldwide fast this Sunday for relief from this virus. We are in His hands, after all!
ReplyDeleteBless the Lord, Oh my soul; and all that is within me, Bless his Holy Name! Psalm 103:1. Thanks for sharing, Love.
ReplyDeleteI saw a quote today that said "There is not enough room in your mind for both fear AND faith. Choose which one lives!" Faith seems like the best path to me. God bless!
