One More Border!

Now it is settled, and it's final!

Today I added the blue border like the cornerstones, and I now truly have my blue quilt, and I like it!

It is now 100" square, which will be better for a king-sized bed when it is not longer at my home.  I have it laid out on my guest full bed, and it is 2" off the floor, which will be perfect as a spread.  The top border looks pretty on the pillows.  I now can live with it, but probably won't have it out all the time after it is quilted, which will probably be after Christmas!

I just wanted to show it again with the blue border.  I'll show it again when it is quilted.  I'm satisfied with it now and can move on to something else.  I have a couple of things in mind --- just small throws.  Maybe I can begin one next week.

I took the 55" green Log Cabin to the quilter Friday.  (See my March 9, 2011, post.)  She is swamped, and may not get to it for a while; I'll show it again when it's finished.

Hope all of you in storm, water, or fire ravaged areas are safe now and recovering from any damages, and that all of you who will be traveling this week-end have a safe trip.  I'll be staying home!  I may be "laboring"  in the yard; it's supposed to be down in the 90's!  YEA!!!!!

Happy Labor Day!

  3. It is gorgeous! I can't wait to see it quilted, but I know I will have to. BTW, we arrived home on Thursday and have been trying to get all our stuff put away. I'll try to do a post today. BTW, while eating lunch in the camper, Jonah noticed the little flag that you gave me, so I told him that Love gave it to me. The next day he pointed to it again and asked specifically who gave it to me. I told him Love and he was happy. We miss the little guys!

  4. The blue border really finishes it. I like it a lot. How exciting to start a new project! (I have about three running around in my head, demanding attention, so we'll see...) I look forward to seeing what you make.

  8. Wow! When you showed this before, I could go either way about another border, but you made the right call. That blue border finshes the quilt off perfectly.
