How Can a Slow Week Pass So Quickly?

I've been home all week except for Thursday when I went to the church quilters day. We made a little progress and some of us took fabrics home to work on this week. I haven't gotten much accomplished, and I failed to get a picture; I will be sure to get one for my next post! We'll see if you can guess what we will be working on this year. For now, I'll just say I've been going in circles! *wink*

I did get two Civil War blocks made, week 17 and 18, Comfort Quilt and Union Square.

I did practice a little on my Free Motion Quilting Project. I'm following Leah Day's instruction, but I'm certainly not doing well enough to want to share it yet! But I'm not giving up --- yet!!

Then I cleaned house a wee bit. You can't imagine how much thread and clippings I had walked onto the den carpet from the sunroom! I finally got all the Christmas quilts and flowers packed away. Wouldn't you know that just when I put out the Spring silk flowers everywhere, we would get our first and only snow so far for this Winter? I've been freezing all day, but I hear the melting snow dripping off the house tonight, so maybe it will be a little warmer tomorrow. At least I don't have to get out in it!

Hope all of you have a Happy Valentine's Day Tuesday. I'll be partying all day with the "Golden Agers" at church that day, and then that evening I'll be going to a party with some of my hometown high school friends. Don't laugh! We still enjoy being together, even though we each have a variety of ailments, some very serious, and others, just routine aches and pains for this age! Even so, we will have a good time. The weather is supposed to be nice for us on Tuesday, thank goodness!

Happy quilting!

  2. Going in circles...hmmm... The CW blocks are looking great and I'm looking forward to seeing your quilting when you're brave enough to share. (I'm sure it looks better to all of us than it does to you - we're our own worst critics, right?) It sounds like you have a wonderful Valentine's Day planned, but don't you dare complain about snow to us northerners! :)

  3. Love the blocks! I didn't know you got snow. We didn't! I think a lot of wimpy people skipped church because it wasn't as full as usual. We had a pot luck afterward. It's wonderful that you still get together with your high school buddies. My cousins do too and they are in their 80s! Have fun at your party!

  5. Your CW blocks are so pretty. I like the comfort quilt, I don't think I have seen that block before. Of course, the fact that it is blue makes it that much better in my eyes. ;)
Happy Valentines Day. It sounds like you will be partying all day indeed. Have a great time.
    Happy stitching.
