Another Patriotic Throw Begun

It's been a long time since I've posted, but I've been reading all your blogs, even when I haven't commented.  I've been a little under the weather, really since Christmas, but hopefully I'll be on the mend soon after a four-day stay in the hospital this past week.  That was my first overnight stay since 1965 when my last child was born!  Not bad, I'd say, for an old lady!  Still have a few health issues to figure out, but I'm on the mend now.

Before the emergency room run last Wednesday, I was working on this new project.  It will be donated to the church Youth auction in April.  I was in the process of getting the piecing done when I had to quit.  Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel like doing a little sewing and at least get the top finished.  You can see the plan at the left side of the picture, from AllPeopleQuilt.com.  I've got to sew a bit before I can lay out the other side. The border on the right side is complete and hanging off the table, but not stitched onto the center big star.

Just wanted you to know I'm still around; just moving slowly for a few days.

  1. I was just thinking of you as I saw you'd posted! I sure hope you're okay. A trip to the emergency room can never mean good things, so I truly hope you're on the mend and don't have to make a stay at the hospital for MANY more years.

The quilt looks great. And I love that finishing the top to you is a "little sewing". For most of us, that's a LOT! I hope it's as appreciated as it deserves to be at the auction. Maybe they'd let you talk it up a little before the bidding begins? Throw in the story about the trip to the emergency room and you might even get some pity bids! :)

  3. I had been wondering about you since you hadn't posted in a while, so I am glad to hear you are OK even though you had to spend time in the hospital. I'm so sorry you had to go to the ER, but thankful that you are out now and on the mend. Just take care of yourself! I love the patriotic quilt and would like the link to the pattern. I tried to find it on the APQ site, but no luck. I recently won a bundle of patriotic FQs that I might be able to use in it along with some fabric that I have on hand.

  4. I was wondering just this morning if all was well with you. Please take care of yourself. There's no point in rushing back to being busy busy too soon and end up taking longer to mend.

You have a great start on the patriotic throw. Enjoy working on it when you're feeling up to it.
