I finally decided on my next project, and while it too will be out of my comfort zone like my last one, I think I'm learning to deal with it. It may be a different story when I start putting the blocks together. It will be challenge for sure! I'm going to give you just a peek for now. I still have more blocks to make, and then I'll have to trudge back to the fabric store for sashing fabric. How do you like this one? I'll tell you more about it next time.
At least it makes me think that Spring is actually on the way! *big grin*
Our church quilters are trying to get a few quickie things together for a youth fund auction soon, so next week I'll have to come up with something for that, which will pull me away from what I'm really wanting to work on. Someone suggested table mats made from some scraps someone gave our group, and a pattern and these fabrics were handed to me. I'm not crazy about it, but it's made; I'm just not sure I'll put it in the sale. I can't imagine anyone wanting it.
I'll probably come up with something patriotic, as is my habit. We'll see later.
Have a great Sunday and all next week!

Your "Spring" block is gorgeous! I love the bird and wild flower fabrics. I think this project will turn out to be a stunner! While the fabric in the table topper isn't as stunning, it might be just the thing for someone. You never know what people will like or what might match their decor. Besides, it is definitely very well made.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh! your Spring block is soooooo pretty! It makes me think of a spring meadow. I can't wait to see more. Even though it is out of your comfort zone, it is good to give it a try and this will be stunning. The little table topper is pretty. It would fit beautifully in a home that is decorated in a primitive style or even a country style. I like that checked fabric in there. Like Ruth said, someone may be looking for just that. It is well made and kind of simple and sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love your Stained Glass block! It would cheer me up on a grey day. The table mat is quite nice - I'd buy it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your floral springy block. I'm one for symmetry usually, too, but this just works. As for your table mat, do turn it in. As other said, you never know what someone is looking for or will fall in love with. And since it's finished, why not! I can't wait to see what you do with your spring blocks...
ReplyDeleteI too usually lean towards the symmetrical, but I do love your spring fabric block. I. You used the fabric so perfectly
ReplyDeleteI like the table mat....you did a great job putting it together.
I have been thinking about you a lot the last couple of weeks. I was helping my DD and SIL settle into their place in Las Cruces. Every time we headed south to Texas I thought of you. (and wished that I had more free time).
