What a three days this has been! I've studied this site so much, and there's still so much more to learn! My chair is crying out for relief, and so are my eyes!
I think I was almost the last hold-out on coming here from APQ, but I must admit I think it is going to be okay, for the most part anyway. So many of you have set up such beautiful pages! My old age and poor eyesight plead for simplicity. Maybe someday I'll get everything all frilled up.
What I'm really wanting to do is QUILT! Remember, my sewing machine was closed down and covered with Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, and only last Monday did I find its top! Since then, this computer has ruled my life. Well, most of the time anyway. Unfortunately, I've spent some of the time in bed, nursing a bad cold --- the worst I've had in a couple of years.
I thought I would at least be digging in the stash by now, but no! Maybe tomorrow! I want to dig out my red and blue patriotic scraps to see if maybe I can applique some stars in the vertical sashings on my two patriotic quotations quilts. Then I just must talk to my quilter and get those finished, as well as the stack and whack. I don't think I'll ever be able to quilt them. So I guess I'm going to make smaller quilts for the most part, for a while anyway, maybe those Christmas things I bought all that fabric for! Hmmmmmm-----------!
Did any of you open a new account at BHG? I did, and I have listed as friends there the ones I could find that stayed there. I think you can get to them from my Friends list here, or by going to my place there. Sad note, but I guess all our blogs will be gone from there tomorrow when we get online. I'm just glad I got all mine saved to a Word file ---don't know what difference it will make 50 years from now, but I'll have them for posterity! *giggle*
See you around here from time to time.

Woohoo! 2 posts, you are on a roll.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you haven't been well, but it sounds like you're not going to let it get the better of you!
You need to allot computer time, and quilting time, so you can get a bit in each day!
I too have not done much quilting... I've been working. Typically January slows down, and our scheduled hours have been cut... 18 hours this week, 15 next, and 11 after that. Needless to say, I got some extra hours in this week.. upto 33, which means no blogging, and no quilting. Yet! Saturday I think I'll be off, so we'll see what happens then.
I too have requested a blog on BHG. I read Lisa's reply to us in her blog announcement, and was touched by it. I posted a comment under your message in the forums "Love".

Hi Love! I know what you mean about the website!! And about losing our old blogs. It was such a nice little community we had going, but at least it seems to be picking back up here. I find it harder to just leave messages though- lots to still figure out!! It is taking me a while too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! Being sick stinks.
Hang in there about the quilting. All of your work is beautiful and I'm sure the smaller projects will be too. Plus they go nice and fast. Can't wait to see :) Christine
Get back to the quilting--you'll feel better. I know I always do!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're getting there...with the blog. But I'm sorry to hear a cold is keeping you from finally getting to quilt. I hope you're feeling better soon and can start showing us your wonderful new creations!
ReplyDeleteBy all means go and quilt. You must be experiencing serious quilting withdrawal by now! Just remember to stop by and show us what you've made once in a while :)

I know what you mean about spending time trying to make sure I can keep up with everyone. I've spent more time on the computer blogs since they announced they were shutting down the APQ blog than ever before. Didn't want to miss finding everyone. Hope you get to your quilting soon and have lots of fun!

Love, It looks like you are doing just fine with your new blog. I went to APQ tonight to take a look and (sounds silly) it ws sad. lad s many quilters came over here.
ReplyDeleteHope your cold is better so that you can dig into that stash and make something fatastic.
Hope you're feeling better soon. I know how hard it can be to get the momentum happening when you're recovering! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you aren't feeling the best. Rest up Friend, you'll be quilting up a storm in no time. Yes, when you start a blog it seems to absorb all your spare time but that settles down. Looking good so far! Take care, Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're getting your blog fancied up a little. I like it! Where did you get those super cute little flowers next to each name in the comments section? I want them too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie, but I have no idea where those little flowers came from. They seem to sort of match my brown wallpaper; what do you think? Maybe they are just part of that set up. Who knows?
ReplyDeleteI'm still blowin', snortin', and coughin' !! But my clean bod is going to be on clean sheets tonight! Maybe that will help! *giggle* Thanks for all your well wishes, everyone! ---"Love"
Love! At long last we meet again!!! I have thought about you often! I'm so glad you found me and that you have come over to the world of blogging. I came over in April or May of last year! I'm not as dedicated to it as some that I follow are, but I follow some pretty awesome blogs that have inspired me to some fun projects. Welcome to the other side!! Hope to see some of your handywork real soon. The kids are getting big. Emma is 8 1/2 and Malek will be 1 on the 26th. That year flew by so quickly! I'll be posting pics from the birthday party after the end of the month. I'm following your blog now so I'll be talking to you soon! Take care! Jenn
ReplyDeleteYep, I am ready to go. Starting a new job tomorrow so I had all week to get it fixed up. Now my room is all ready and I have to go to work! But it will be ready when I get home... Also got the binding on the scrap quilt today, so once the label is on it will be finished. So I have a good start on my goal of getting a quilt done every month this year... Wanna bet I scrap that resolution next month? Maybe I need to make a quilt every 2 months... :) Theri
ReplyDeleteThanks Love, I'm still trying to figure all of this out, but I'm getting there. Connie204
