Kaleidoscope Progress

It's been a week since I introduced my Kaleidoscope quilt; I'm ten days into its construction. The rows are all together, and pinned on the design wall. I probably should have waited until tomorrow night, but I wanted to share my progress at this point. The blocks are 8". I'll be adding a blue border, 4" I think, but right now it measures 56" x 64", which will serve my purpose well.

You may need to squint your eyes, and change your viewing angle, but I think you will see the blue circles. I moved several blocks around several times before sewing them together.  Seems like tonight, after sewing all afternoon, I'm seeing the four-pointed curved medallions more. Anyway, so far, I'm pleased.

I hope the rows go together as easily as the blocks in each row did.

It has rained most of today, and will be freezing tomorrow and maybe snow/sleet on Thursday, so I will have at least a couple or three of good quilting days.  (I'm sure it won't be as bad as some of you are suffering through!)  Who knows; I may even get to a Christmas project before the end of the week!

I hope everyone stays well and warm during all the severe winter weather.   Make the most of the quilting time, because when Spring comes --- or even the SUN, we are all going to want to get outside for a change!

  3. Hi Love, it's been quite awhile. I'm still feeling really stupid when it comes to all of this blogging and haven't figured it out yet. I so miss APQ. Our computer was down for a little while. I love your new quilt and am missing seeing everyone elses. I really need to spend some more time and figure out all of this, however, it's my husband's computer and he needs it to work. I'm so glad I have able to find you. Connie

  4. Your Kaleidoscope quilt is very pretty. I can see the blue circles, very nice. The colors are so soft and nice. Can't wait to see the quilting!

Yes, gray cloudy skies in NM, heading your way. We had snowflakes here yesterday that looked almost an inch across. It was very pretty but didn't last long. I am looking forward to some sun shine.

    Happy quilting!

  5. Connie, we've all missed you too in our little APQ group, and seeing your beautiful work. I'm glad you've found me too, because you should be able to find everyone else too by clicking on a name in my "Blog List" to the left of my blog. Some people have different names and pictures, but most are the same.
I got your e-mail address from Alice (BC Quilter), so tell your husband I'll be sending a list of bloggers as we knew them on APQ. I'll put ---"Love" in the subject line so he will know not to delete it. Maybe that will help you find everyone. Hope so!
We would all love to know what you've been working on! ---"Love"

  6. You have made incredible progress on the quilt in just a week! It looks fantastic and depending on how I look at it, I see all sorts of different patterns emerging. I like that about it.

I think we're finally going to get some of our winter snow up here. We've had very little all winter, but I hear we're to get dumped on in the next 24 hours. Roads were already a little icy this morning on the way in to work, so I hope the road commision trucks make their rounds well before I have to go home! (I wish I could just stay home and sew and snuggle kitties, but the boss frowns on that...)

  8. Oh your quilt is just beautiful! How did you ever come up with figuring out what piece went where? It's amazing. Ready for the snow on Thursday? I'm not. Kids are both sick and I'm coming down with a cold too. Yuck! Texas weather is so unpredictable. Jenn

  9. So beautiful! I can see the blue circles too.

I've had enough of the sun here - it's been too hot for too long. I'm really hanging out for autumn to arrive with all it's beautiful colour and crisp evenings.

  11. Spring has sprung here!

Your quilt looks wonderful, it is really taking shape.

Guess who found me on BHG site? Lizen! She is not happy with all the rain you Texans are getting!

I've sent her Ann's blog, and mine, I think she'll find most of us!

Alice, finding Lizen is great news! Our Connie 204 finally posted a brief blog here today too. She is shown as one of my Followers under the name of Anyiri right now. She will also be finding everyone soon. I'm still missing Freebird too; maybe she will find us yet! ---"Love"
