I wish I had taken a picture of my sunroom today while the sun was shining brightly. It is in total disarray! Two and one-half inch strips are scattered everywhere, from all kinds of Civil War fabrics! I've got to find a way to get them organized or I'll never be able to get my new project together. Hopefully I can figure out a way to shape things up tomorrow afternoon, after another trip to another doctor and a long list of other errands. I'm again so grateful that my son will be able to take me everywhere I need to go; what would I do without him?!! Maybe someday soon all the doctors will agree to let me start driving again. I think I could do it now, but no one else agrees yet. It's the pits, I'll tell you for sure, for this old independent lady!
Today I dug through all those strips, looked at my plan, and got the first three nine-patches sewn together, and so far, everything has gone well. Here's a little peek at what is to come as the days go on. Altogether it is 18.5" x 6.5".
Last Sunday I also got started on a much smaller project (for my BFF's May birthday). I can't show it yet, but I laugh out loud every time I look at it and consider what I'll write on the label when I get it finished. I'm in the process of embroidering a block approximately 16" x 20", and then I'll put some quilt blocks around that for a small throw. (I haven't embroidered since 1995 when my son was in the hospital 50 days straight!) I just hope I can do it decently! So far, so good.
Got to go to bed so I can be ready for that 8:30 appointment in the morning. I hate to have to be anywhere that early!

I like the looks of what I see so far! Good luck with getting your driving privileges back. That must really be frustrating.
ReplyDeleteLooking good so far Love! I would love to have seen a photo of your sunroom in chaos - all part of the creative journey. The present for your BFF sounds wonderful. Can't wait to see it.
