I've made a little progress on my new project since my last post. There's still a long way to go, but I just can't resist showing a rough layout on my too-small design wall. The four large blocks are finished, but the groups of three 9-patches are not stitched together, and indeed they may get rearranged before the background fabric is added to the scene. I still have to make lots more 9-patches before I cut the background. Don't judge the layout too harshly; it is there only to help me stay focused for now.
The first picture is how the pieces looked after I got a little more organized. Arranging to work the "scrappy" look certainly is not the easiest thing I've ever done. Any hints from anyone?
Here's some of the 9-patches as I went along:
Finally, this will be the basic layout so far. I do have a few 9-patches left, but will need to make lots more. (Spacing between blocks is way off!)
I've also done quite a bit of emboidery on my BFF project; got to start making the surrounding quilt blocks soon.
Got good news from my cardiologist this week! After a TEE test and chemical stress test (in addition to every other tests known to man), I was told there's nothing wrong with my heart (of which I was pretty certain). The doctor and staff were very surprised; said my heart is healthier than any of their patients who are near my age. Best proof to me is that they said they will see me six months down the road. Otherwise, I'd have been scheduled before then, don't you think? The doctor indicated that the other doctors will have to find a cause for my stroke other than my heart. I celebrated today by driving myself to Walmart without telling anyone, and then to Braum's for an ice cream cone! *giggle* I don't think I scared anyone anywhere. The problem comes when I get out of the car; I still struggle to walk even with the cane. I will see the neurologist again on Wednesday, and then hopefully my primary doctor will get me back in therapy soon. Anyway.......my attitude is better tonight!
What a glorious day tomorrow will be --- Resurrection Sunday! I will be worshipping the Lord in my church; hope you will be too!

Easter Blessings Love - especially for your healthy heart! That's wonderful news and a trip to Walmart, then ice cream was just the ticket to celebrate. Your nine patch quilt looks terrific so far. Lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear your heart is so healthy and that you're driving again! The nine patch quilt is looking great and I'm curious to see the final layout. And these teases about the BFF quilt...she'd better hurry up and have that birthday because I want to see it too! Tell her it's okay if she just turns 29 again, just do it early!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is good to hear you are in such great shape. Celebrating with a trip to Walmart and ice cream sounds great. Your quilt is coming along. The fabrics are all gorgeous, can't wait to see this one!
