My Stars! This Thing Has Grown!

I've had a busy week again!  Physical Therapy two days, attending a birthday party for a 92 year old friend, watering the roses, raking up dead twigs that had fallen off the trees (a BIG yard trash bag full---took me all afternoon when anyone else could have done it in an hour!), plus the usual shopping and laundry.

BUT---I made sure to make time to work on my star quilt!  I made stars until I ran out of the solid blue fabric.  Went to the store to get more, and it was all gone in that exact color, wouldn't you know?  I bought a yard of something close, but it won't work!  But that's okay.  When I got the stars together, I decided all it needs is a red/white border, and a binding (which may have to be red/white stripe if I cannot find the right blue somewhere.  I can live with that, but I'd rather have the same blue, of course.)

Anyway, here it is.  Right now it is about 80" x 68".   It's a little hard to see the solid white setting triangles because of the white flannel on the design wall, but they are there. I'll make wide red/white musical borders to bring it to queen size.  Just to let you know, I'm loving it!  It was easy and fun for a change from that last busy thing!  Next time you see it, it will have borders.

Maybe next week won't be so busy for any of us!  Hope we can all quilt a lot!

  1. My goodness, Love. You accomplished a lot in just a week. This is going to be a beautiful quilt. I would love to be outside working in the yard, but we still have snow to deal with. Hope you find some time to sew.

  5. Gorgeous! And as fast as you've pulled this together, you might have had it done in time for it's original purpose, but I'm sure it will find another purpose - quilts have a way of doing that!
