I'm not sure what to call it yet, but I think I love it!
On March 24 I had made one 11" white star with blue background, thinking I would make a table topper for the church youth auction, but realized I couldn't get it finished in time. So I switched off to the Family Rules wall hanging. I'm glad I did for a couple of reasons. First, I did get the Family Rules finished and delivered in time; sale is tomorrow.
The main reason I'm glad I changed my mind is that I really would not have wanted to part with this one! I have one more block made in both colors, but as soon as I finish this post, I'll be making more! I want it to be at least throw size, and I'll just keep putting blocks up until I think it is large enough, or until I run out of the white musical fabric. The blocks will finish at 9" and have gone together easily. Here's a closeup of the blocks to show the musical background fabric.
That is all there is to it ! I'll probably have to use some setting triangles to square it up. I first saw this design here, and loved it immediately. I decided I would make it someday, and made a note where to find it again.
In the meantime, this week I have also been soaking some of those vintage linens I got at the estate sale last week. Most of the stains have come out, but I'll let them stay in the bathtub again today.
Got to go sew! It is so good to look at my design wall and have a place for my eyes to rest!

ReplyDeleteGreat design, and I love that music fabric--in fact, I used that same fabric in a RWB quilt a couple years ago. I wonder if I have any left? Your quilt is going to be beautiful!
