Believe It? I'm Actually Quilting Today!

How does life get so busy so quickly?  I'd like to know!

Between helping with funeral dinners (two this week), and a doctor's visit this morning, and the usual daily stuff, I can't believe I'm going to actually be quilting this afternoon.  I quilted a bit yesterday, and just to prove it, I thought I'd post a picture.  I still have a way to go, but I hope to finish by July 4 for sure if I can.

I want to get this one finished so I can start planning what to start next.  In the middle of July, my DIL and I, and maybe my quilting buddy and her sister, are going back to the same retreat place we've gone the past two years.  It is such a comfy and beautiful place, and the hostess is so very sweet to all of us.  Hopefully some of the others will return also for a fun time.   I have to be better prepared than I was last year, when I didn't accomplish much while there.  Got to get to thinking!

Last Friday two of my quilting buddies took me with them to the Bosque Arts Center in Clifton, Tx., for the quilt show there.  We saw lots of pretty quilts, and the people were so friendly.  On the way home, we stopped at an estate sale and picked up a few things, no embroidered doilies.  The whole day (about 10 hours) was a blast!  Here are a few of my favorite quilts from the show.

"Crossing the Brazos"; Not a panel!  Quilter used over 25 fabrics to cut  and
applique the horses cows, rocks,  mountains, and even the clouds!
Incredible!  Truly Texas, too!

This was their third or fourth show, but it was wonderful, held in the second and third floor of a restored old Lutheran College building built in 1923, complete with a beautiful theater with a large stage and 250 beautiful seats for plays, concerts, whatever, and their calendar is packed through the rest of 2018, including programs and activities for kids!  There is also a gorgeous area for well-known artists to display their paintings; we enjoyed that almost (almost!) as much as the quilt show.  On the lower level were the vendors, of course.  It truly is a treasure for a small Texas town that is in the process of creating an interesting small town.  If you are ever in the  Central Texas area just north of Waco a few miles, be sure to plan some time there.  Or you can see more about it all here.

This was intended to be a short post to let you know I am still quilting, but I got carried away thinking about that little town with so much to see.  (I didn't even mention their museum or shops in the old part of town.)
