I got two blocks made today, and I'm pleased with both of them. That makes five out of fifteen blocks finished. I'm wondering how I'm going to get all these colors and blocks together. Choosing a sashing may be a problem! The book shows a lot of colors, and I like all the fabrics I bought, but putting it all together will be a challenge for me. I've never put a "sampler" together, which is what this is basically. Nothing really matches anything else, and I'm not sure I'm going to like that! Yet so far, each block looks okay. I guess it's my brain having the problem!
Life may get in my way tomorrow --- therapy and some other stuff, but we'll see which block I'll make next.
Any special plans for Memorial Day, anyone? Don't forget those who paid dearly for our freedom!

Dark Brown! If all your blocks have the light beigy/brown background, dark brown would set them off really well. You are doing such a wonderful job!

Blocks are looking great Love! You might have to take the finished blocks to the quilt shop and raid their shelves until you find the sashing that works. Whenever I've done this I've always come away with the fabric I would never have bought on it's own, but seems to bring it all together. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteA couple more wonderful blocks! Liri and Fer have some great ideas for sashing, but I'd like to add not to let your brain worry too much about this...at least not until all the blocks are finished. It will all come out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteOh Love, these are all coming along nicely!! Not sure what you'll do for sashing though. Will probably have to wait til all 15 are done and then addition a few different ones. Or do no sashing at all - that might be an option. It will look fabulous I'm sure! Jenn
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful blocks. When I have done sampler quilts I wait until all the blocks are done and then try out different sashing options. You will find a sashing color that ties them all together.
