It was a beautiful day in Texas today; I should have been outside! After such a long siege of clouds and cold weather in the 20's, I should have been soaking up the sunshine in 75 degrees. Instead, I was in the sun room working on this:
I did make lots more progress, but decided to wait to show it until I get the last border on, hopefully tomorrow. One thing is certain: You've never seen anything like this one! (No doubt you'll be glad of that!) I've been flying by the seat of my pants all day! I told a friend that I have really had to tax my math skills, and that my dear old high school math teacher would be ashamed of me! But I got it all figured out, to my satisfaction anyway.
It really is just a co-incidence that Texas gets a new Governor tomorrow for the first time in about 15 years. I had not thought about that until I heard it on the local news tonight.
More to come in a day or two.

It looks great! I love it! How big is it going to be? Is it being made for a gift or auction? 75 is a warm day. We have had some nice days in between the rainy ones. We received 1 1/2" of rain on Saturday and yesterday it was real foggy, but then the sun came out and it was beautiful. Temp in the 50s.
ReplyDeleteI really like your work so far. Love the star blocks. I can hardly wait to see the rest.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are enjoying some sunshine after such a cold spell. As I understand it - Texas is a one-of-a-kind state so I guess your quilt is right on the money! Looking real good so far.
ReplyDeleteI am so not ready for warmer weather. Love the quilt...especially the map:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
It's funny how "cold" is relative. We dipped down below 0 F recently, so hovering around 32 F has seemed positively balmy. 75 degrees seems very far away... You're making nice progress on your "seat of your pants" quilt. I wouldn't have guessed you were making it up as you go along :)
