By the time I finished No. 15, I was zapped! When I first began this project, I was so careful and tried to make each little quilt special. The closer I came to No. 15, the more careless I got!
No. 14 is very similar to No. 13 --- different flowers; different color. I free-motioned around most of the flowers on both 13 and 14, and with the thick, fluffy poly batting, the flowers puffed up really nicely, hiding a lot of the bad stitches! By this time, I wasn't being very careful in turning the backing forward for the finishes either, but hey, they're done! No. 14 is 48 x 37". (By the way, the quilt is lying on the sewing machine extension my friend put on the back of my machine cabinet.)
For No. 15,I had planned to make a "cowboy" quilt with the leftovers from my son's and grandsons' quilts. When I got to digging, I found the "pretty horses" fabric, and decided to use it instead, thus saving a lot of piecing! Again, another quickie! I wish the backing scene had been larger; yes, I know the top horses' heads are cut off, but that's all I had! It would have been nice if I had three framed panels too, but I didn't! Maybe some little old man who was a horse lover will get this one. No. 15 is 49 x 32".
So here's the stack of 15 little quilts, ready to go to the church in the morning so we can sew little labels on all 75! I made eight for ladies, five for men, and two that could go either way.
I think I'll be glad when Thursday is over!
Then maybe I can get on to other things, like Christmas, and maybe more Civil War blocks.
Hope everyone is getting lots of quilting done; I'm ready for a rest!

ReplyDeleteThose quilts, every single one, are going to make 15 people very happy. We're our own worst critics and I'm sure your work will be appreciated. And what's this about Christmas? Oh dear...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely stack of quilts. Some lucky people will be so very excited to get a quilt this year. Each and everyone of your your quilts are pretty. I like that last one with the horses. My DD rode for years and I spent a lot of time waiting around the barn.
